2026 Teacher of the Year Nominations

The Hermitage School District (HSD) is accepting nominations for the Hermitage Teacher of the Year (HTOY) Program. The Hermitage School District (HSD) will award one of our outstanding teachers Teacher of the Year if they meet HSD minimum qualifications.

Students, parents, colleagues, administrators, or members of the general public may nominate teachers.

2025-2026 Parent Engagement Opportunities

Stay informed about your child's progresses and school. We encourage parents may contact their teachers and school administrators to schedule a meeting by messaging them through School Status or email.

Parent Teacher Conferences are provided two times per year as listed on the Hermitage School District Calendar

Annual Reports to the Public are conducted annually

Open House is scheduled in the beginning of the year among parent nights that are scheduled by our various programs and departments.

Helpful Hints from the Parent Engagement Team:

Understand What They’re Working On each and every day!

Schedule a meeting with the Hermitage School Staff to learn more about your child's specific needs. Review their grades, see what the teacher needs help from home, or just become more informed about our curriculum and what your child is learning in our classrooms.
Check progress reports or dashboards regularly to see which skills your child is practicing and how they’re scoring.
Look at the diagnostic action plan to focus on recommended skills
Check the Parent Platform regularly. Ask us questions about your child's grades.

Set Up a Supportive Learning Routine

Establish a regular homework time and a quiet, comfortable workspace.
Sit with them if they’re struggling and help them talk through problems
Praise effort and improvement — not just perfect scores.

Read to your child- Imagination Library Resource- Our school library to check out grade level books

Have your child read to you- check for understanding, ask reflection questions, ask them to summarize the story- students could even write the summary for practice.

In Arkansas, Individual Reading Plans (IRPs) are mandatory, targeted intervention plans for K-3 students identified as having reading difficulties, designed to ensure proficiency and avoid retention. They are developed based on screeners, such as the ATLAS system, and include specific, evidence-based literacy interventions within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. Hermitage Parent Engagement Meeting – Join Us!

Parents and guardians are invited to attend our face-to-face Parent Engagement Meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Choose one session of two available sessions either between 3:45–4:45 p.m. or Session 2 between 5:15 - 6:15 p.m. at the Hermitage High School Cafeteria.

Learn about the Third Grade Promotion Law (K–3), plus reading supports, tutoring, Student Success Planning, CTE pathways, Career & Technical Merit Distinction requirements, graduation readiness, family survey results, and other resources for grades 4–12.

This is a great opportunity to stay informed, ask questions, and partner with our staff and leaders to support student success.
