Weekly Hermit 10/12/26-10/16/26

Our 2026–2027 EAST Student Champions, Drake Atkins and Cameron Byrd, joined students from other EAST programs at the University of Arkansas at Monticello for Student Champion Training! During this training, they strengthened their leadership skills, built new connections, and developed their teamwork skills. We are so proud of our Student Champions and look forward to seeing all the amazing things they accomplish in their leadership roles! 🏆❤️

Hermitage High School will host a Parent Meeting tonight to review our school's letter grade.

Pumpkin Patch Fun!! Hermitage Pre-K took a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday where students got to enjoy lots of fun activities such as rubber duck racing, the petting zoo, playing in the corn castle, going on a hayride, escaping a corn maze, playing on a huge ship and hay bales, watching a pig race enjoying a picnic in the sunshine and of course getting to pick out their very own pumpkin to take home. It was a fun day for these students!

Reminder: Tomorrow, Friday, October 2nd, is Pink Out for HHS.

On Tuesday, during Day 2 of the Beta Leadership Conference, HHS students Drake Atkins and Thomas O’Neill represented our school with pride and brought home two awards! 🏅 Collaboration Connection Award 🏅 Outstanding Leadership School Award We are proud of Drake and Thomas for representing Hermitage High School and demonstrating what it means to lead, collaborate, and represent HHS well!

On Tuesday, our HHS Composition I students had the opportunity to visit the University of Arkansas at Monticello and learn more about the resources available to them as UAM students! During their visit, students: • Toured the UAM Library • Viewed the Special Collections • Learned how to access research databases • Explored the Ask a Librarian feature • Had their UAM student IDs made These students are taking Composition I through UAM and are taught by Mrs. Kala Thornton and Mrs. Anne O’Neill. We are excited to see our students taking advantage of concurrent enrollment opportunities and becoming familiar with the college resources available to them.

We are proud of Drake Atkins and Thomas O’Neill as they represent Hermitage High School at the Beta Leadership Conference this Monday and Tuesday! We hope they have a great experience developing their leadership skills, connecting with other Beta members, and bringing new ideas back to HHS.
