Today, Hermitage High School kicked off 2026 by welcoming our students back after winter break! It was great to see smiling faces in the halls, classrooms full of learning, and students ready to start strong for the second semester.

Proud of our Hermitage Boys Basketball team for an outstanding performance at the Westside Christian Tournament! The Hermits battled hard and came up just short in a close championship game against Claiborne Academy, finishing 47–49.

HHS students attended a lab day at ASMSA in Hot Springs, where they completed pGLO Bacterial Transformation and Gel Electrophoresis labs. This hands-on experience gave students exposure to advanced lab techniques and real-world science. We’re proud of our Hermits! 🖤❤️

Gregory Hilliard’s 10th-grade biology students have been demonstrating their understanding of biomes and the impact of human activities on climate and ecosystems through these creative, hands-on projects. From rainforests to marine ecosystems, students showcased both scientific knowledge and imagination as they brought learning to life.

HES has enjoyed several fun holiday activities, including the Classic Christmas Program and special visitors for Kindergarten. Students are currently enjoying the Snowflake Store while staff enjoyed Spudnuts, Chick-fil-a Chicken biscuits. Tomorrow we will celebrate with classroom Christmas parties at 12:30 and Christmas Around the World from 5:30–7:00.

HHS Christmas Door Decorating Contest winners: 1st Place Alexis Dunaway, 2nd Place Jerri Thomas, 3rd Place Susanne Grice. The theme this year was "Christmas Songs," and we had several amazing entries!

HES Weekly Scoop Parent Edition for the Week of December 15:
Thank you to all K-6 families who completed the K–6 Elementary Weekly Scoop Parent Edition Survey. Surveys were made available in the 2025 October and November Weekly Scoop editions, and results were shared with parents on Monday, December 8, 2025.
We are pleased to report that key focus areas showed notable improvement. Feedback indicated decreased concerns in several areas, including staff input, students respecting others, and teachers knowing students outside of class. These results reflect the continued commitment of our staff and students to foster a supportive, respectful, and connected school environment. Thank you Elementary, results are in!
We sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to share their feedback. Your input is essential in guiding our ongoing efforts.
Additional surveys for staff, families/parents/guardians, and students will be available during Parent–Teacher Conferences in February 2026.
