HSD wants to thank Mr. Harold Hampton for his service to our school district. Mr. Hampton served on our Board of Directors from 2005 until his resignation in February, 2021. We appreciate you, Mr. Harold!

This is a reminder about the attendance policy for HES. We have students missing school and trying to complete their work remotely under the idea that this excuses them from the absence or does not count as an absence. Even if the student completes the work assigned, the student is still absent. Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in the number of student absences this year (non-COVID related). Regular attendance is critical to the academic success of your child.
Students are allowed a maximum of six excused absences a semester. After two unexcused absences, the district files a FINS petition with the court. Board Policy 4.7 can be found in the handbook.
Absences also incur when students are checked out early from school. Students need to be in school all day. When they leave early, they are missing lessons.
If your student has been tested for COVID, someone in the household has tested for COVID, or the student or someone in the student’s household has a positive COVID test result, you must notify the District POC immediately at (870) 820-4644. With proper documentation from the department of health and regular communication with the District POC, absences as described in this paragraph will not count against the six excused absences allowed by the handbook.

GUÍA DE DEPORTE DE PRIMAVERA PARA JUEGOS EN CASA EN HERMITAGE : La entrada para todos los deportes cuesta $ 5. Se requiere el uso de máscaras en todos los eventos. El desinfectante de manos estará disponible en las puertas y puestos de concesión. Las familias deben sentarse juntas y mantenerse a 6 pies de distancia de otros grupos familiares. Se anima a los fanáticos a traer sillas de jardín y relajarse. Los entrenadores comunicarán las pautas para los partidos fuera de casa, pero serán similares a esto. SPRING SPORT GUIDANCE FOR HOME GAMES: Gate admission for all sports is $5. Masks are required to be worn at all events. Hand sanitizer will be available at gates and concession stands. Families must sit together and must stay 6 feet away from other family groups. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and spread out! Coaches will communicate guidelines for away games, but they will be similar to this. Remember-we must stay safe so our teams can play!!! Go Hermits!!!

Save the Date! We have some great news! Hermitage Elementary School WILL be hosting kindergarten and 6th grade graduation on the football field on Thursday, May 27, 2021! HSD will be on-site for school on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021. Buildings and staff will follow normal schedules.
BUS PARENTS: Bus routes will run on a 1-hour delay. Gravel roads are still slick in spots, but the sunshine is helping! Please meet the bus at a main road or bring your student to school, if possible, if the roads near you are not good. Please contact your driver if your child will not ride so we can modify routes. Stay safe!
Padres de HES, Estamos trabajando hoy para hacer llamadas telefónicas a los hogares de los padres de los estudiantes que no han completado su trabajo mientras nosotros hemos estado fuera de forma remota. Para ayudar a los estudiantes a recuperar el trabajo, estos estudiantes deberán asistir a la escuela el próximo miércoles todo el día.
