The Hermitage School District (HSD) is accepting nominations for the Hermitage Teacher of the Year (HTOY) Program. The Hermitage School District (HSD) will award one of our outstanding teachers a Teacher of the Year if they meet HSD minimum qualifications. The nomination process and criteria were created by the Personnel Policy Committee several years ago and align with our state Teacher of the Year process. The nomination form will be posted on our school’s website and linked to this email. The finalist will be named at the end-of-the-year luncheon this year. Nominations must be received before Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
Students, parents, colleagues, administrators, or members of the general public may nominate teachers by going to our school website and filling out the appropriate documents.

HHS Senior Night for our soccer players: Ma'Kya Ashley, Aubrey Ray, Ana Castillo, Miguel Ramos, and Manny Candido.

HHS Field Day is being moved to Monday, May 6th due to inclement weather this week.

Hermitage High School FFA Forestry Team recently placed third overall at the state forestry competition. Team members include Carter Wilkerson, JD Morman, Ethan Allred, Colton McKinney. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments!

We are excited to announce that Kirby Gibson, a 2nd-grade teacher at Hermitage Elementary, has been accepted into the Impact Arkansas Graduate Program through the University of Arkansas. Mrs. Gibson has been in our district for 4 years and in education for 15 years. We are so incredibly proud of her and can not wait to see her grow as a leader as a result of her participation in cohort 9. Congratulations Kirby Gibson!Â

Hermitage School District (HSD) students will participate in the Monday, April 8, 2024 Solar Eclipse activities with their classroom teachers. All activities will be monitored before, during, and after the Solar Eclipse experience. At HSD, the safety of everyone observing the Eclipse is our top priority. Therefore, all students and staff will be provided with eclipse glasses and given clear safety instructions. Teachers will guide students on what to observe and how to record the information discovered, ensuring a safe and enriching experience for all. Parents and Guardians can opt out the participation of their child(ren) from Solar Eclipse activities. If a parent or guardian needs a new opt-out form, contact the principal's office to obtain a form.
